LOVE LIKE A SHEPHERD

Hello everyone. I am grateful for the opportunity to share how God has transformed me through the journey of discipleship and called me to walk in His vision.
I believed in God at the age of ten, even though my family did not know Him and continued to worship our ancestors. From the moment I came to faith, I carried a deep burden to pray for my parents and for the people around me to know God and be saved. I was passionate about witnessing, yet I saw very little fruit. Some of my friends believed for a while, but when their families opposed them, they could not stand firm. I often cried out to God and asked Him why this was happening.
In 2016, after graduating from university, I moved to Ho Chi Minh City. There I met Pastor Leslie and his wife, Aunty Linda. Through their teaching, I began to study the Word of God more deeply and experienced the power of Scripture and prayer in a way I never had before.
What truly changed me was their way of discipling. I had never known a pastor who walked so closely with me in every part of my life. With love and patience, they taught me how to love my husband and my parents, how to raise my children, and how to navigate the challenges of family and ministry. Most importantly, they taught me to love God first, to seek Him daily, and to walk with Him in every season.
As my heart changed, the Word of God softened what was once rigid and self-centred within me. I began to understand God’s heart and to obey Him in all things. Slowly, I saw transformation not only in myself but also in my family. God touched each one of them, from my brother to my parents. After 17 years of praying for them, my parents became Christians four years ago. Praise God for His faithfulness.
Pastor and Aunty also shared their vision with me and taught me about discipleship, something I had never truly understood. One question they asked stayed with me: “Where are your disciples?” It opened my eyes to the fact that although I had been witnessing passionately, I had not been obeying Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples.
Previously, I told people about God in my own strength. Now, I began by talking to God about people before talking to people about God. The difference was remarkable. God enabled me to bear fruit. I discipled my first person, then a few more, and I taught them what I had received from Pastor and Aunty. I also learnt to love them like a shepherd. When I realised that there are 98 million unsaved Vietnamese people, the fire within me burned even brighter. I wanted every one of them to know Jesus.

One day, God reminded me that I could not do this work alone. I needed a team who shared the same heart and vision. Today, I thank God for the RA RA leadership team, where we encourage and cheer one another on in the faith. I see how the seniors, who are direct disciples of Pastor and Aunty, and the juniors, who are our disciples, are growing together as one. We are learning, praying, and believing together to fulfil God’s vision for this nation.
I have witnessed so many lives transformed through Pastor and Aunty’s discipleship. I believe revival is coming. We must get ready to disciple many and raise leaders for God’s Kingdom. And perhaps we begin by praying to win and disciple one more person for the Lord.
