LIFE CHANGED FOR THE BETTER

by Kwanjira lauma, Member of Little Candles Methodist Church, Thailand.

Hello, my name is Kwanjira lauma, but you can call me Kwan. I am 18 years old. I am studying in Grade 11 at Phrao High School where I take Art and Chinese as my field of study. I have an older sister and a younger sister.

My parents were divorced when I was very young. And they went to work at different places. I had to stay with my grandmother. When I was 7 years old, my father sent me to stay at a Christian dormitory at Sanpatong District. I began to know about God at this dormitory through the Sunday School class. I enjoyed many of the stories from the Bible.

When I was in Grade 6, I came back to stay with my grandmother again and studied at Mae Tang School for a term. When I graduated from Mae Tang School, my mom wanted me to learn Chinese and she sent me to stay at Enfu dormitory in Phrao until Grade 9. During Term 2, my friend Nam invited me to stay with her at Little Candles Methodist Church dormitory. At that time, my mother had financial problems and did not have enough money to pay for Enfu dormitory too. So, I decided to stay in Little Candles Methodist Church dormitory which gave me sponsorship support.

During my stay at this dormitory, I learned about responsibilities through carrying out the many assigned duties, like cooking, washing dishes, daily online study, and doing homework. During my free time, I planted vegetables and cactus.

I thank God for bringing me to Little Candles Methodist Church dormitory. It has helped me to develop my life for the better which I was not able to do previously. It has also helped to lighten the financial burden on my family because the dormitory has provided a lot of help. I have come to appreciate the love I received from God and it has made me want to be a good Christian.

I participate actively in the church ministry as well, like outreach at Mae Soon Village and Longkhort Village. I sing in the worship team and help to teach in Sunday School. I also grow hydroponic vegetables for Daniel’s Burgers café.

After I gradate from Phrao High School, I plan to study in China. After that, I will return to serve at Little Candles Methodist Church for a few years. I want to know God more and to grow in my faith.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.

Hebrews 6:19
