FROM ONE TO MANY

by Nula Sangarun (Nang), Member of Payakaphumpisai Methodist Church, Thailand.

I came to know the Lord in 2010. Back then, there were only about four or five believers in my village of Kok Leung. Since we lived far from the nearest church, the pastor had to make a long trip every Sunday just to bring us to worship. One by one, the other believers gradually stopped coming, until only my niece and I were left.

Each Sunday, as our pastor continued making the journey for just the two of us, I was filled with guilt and sorrow. I cried out to God, "Why am I the only one left, Lord? Please revive my village so others may come to know You."

For years, I prayed without seeing much change. Then, one day, my husband became seriously ill. Water was leaking from his ear, and his mouth became crooked. I brought him to a cell group meeting, where we prayed over him together.

That very night, my husband had a dream. He saw Jesus reaching out and placing a finger in his ear. When he awoke the next morning, the fluid had stopped, and his mouth began to return to normal. That miracle opened his heart to believe in Jesus. He received Christ and was baptised.

The blessings didn’t stop there. Two of his sisters soon came to faith, followed by their daughters. Our neighbour, touched by my husband’s testimony and the love of our cell group, also believed. Slowly but surely, God was answering my prayers.

Today, we have over ten believers in the village. The van that once carried just two of us is now too small for our growing group. I no longer cry out in loneliness but I give thanks for the joy of fellowship and revival in my village.

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Thank you, Lord. May all glory and honour be Yours.
