by Set Chhit, Former resident of COSI, Cambodia. He is currently in the Post COSI Integration Programme.

I am very thankful to God for bringing me to stay in COSI in 2012. When I was in COSI, I started to attend school for the first time and was enrolled into Grade 5. I did not know any of the Khmer consonants and vowels though I was in Grade 5. I could not read when the teacher asked me to read. This was because I could not recognize any word. I was very frustrated and sad, and sometimes I hid somewhere and cried alone. I prayed and told God that I wanted to know how to read Khmer.

In COSI, there were too many children and, sometimes, the house parents do not really know the problems that every child faced. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone that I did not know how to read since I was already in Grade 5. It was not until Grade 9, four years later, that God sent someone to teach me personally. It was only when I was in Grade 10 that I started to recognise and read Khmer. I was so happy and was really grateful to God for answering my prayer.

When I was in Grade 12, I encountered another problem. I was not good in my studies. So, I asked God to help me to pass my Grade 12 National Examinations. I made a promise to God, I know I should not, but I did. I told God that if I were to pass my examinations, I will testify of how He answered my prayer. Thank God! I passed my National Examinations! I shared how He answered my prayers during the Sunday Worship Service and now I share them to you.

I am so thankful to God for everything that He has given me! May His name be praised! Amen!

Dear Set Chhit, It's so amazing that God hears and answers our prayers, and often in ways that we could not comprehend. Thank you for sharing your incredible experience of the manner in which God had answered your prayers, and as a result, you yourself and many others have been blessed! Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ! May the Lord continue to lead and direct your path as you trust in His Sovereign Grace to open doors for you to grow towards maturity in Christ. Take care. Shalom.
