A HOME WHERE I FOUND GOD

by Chasum Rai, Sophia’s Home, Nepal.

Hello, my name is Chasum Rai. I am in Grade 11 and currently living at Sophia’s Home. I first came here when I was eight years old. At that time, adjusting to a completely new environment was difficult, yet looking back now, I see how stepping out of my comfort zone became one of the greatest blessings in my life. I thank God for bringing me here, where I have met wonderful people and grown to know Him more deeply. Living at Sophia’s Home has shaped me both spiritually and physically.

My childhood was not easy. My mother passed away because of appendicitis, and my father was physically very weak. He was unable to care for me and my sister, so our aunt stepped in to take us in. It was through her that God opened the way for me to know Christ, because without her care, I might never have encountered the Gospel.

In 2017, God had an even bigger plan for me. He brought me to Sophia’s Home and gave me a new family, one filled with sisterhood, friendship, and love. Here, I found a home where I could grow, learn, and experience God’s presence in my life. I later decided to be baptised at WBMC and surrendered my life fully to Him.

Over time, even my family has come to appreciate Sophia’s Home and is grateful for the way they have cared for me. Though my life still has its ups and downs, I trust each day that God will restore me and lead me according to His ways.

I thank God for being with me and watching over me from the very beginning. As this is the month of Thanksgiving, I want to thank Him above all for His greater plans for my life. I pray that He will show me His purpose and help me walk faithfully in His will.
