HIS MIRACLE, HIS PROVIDENCE, HIS CARE

by Sous Setha, 54-year-old Staff of COSI, Cambodia.

In 1993, I started an association called “The Cambodia Association for the Development of the Farmer and the Poor” (CADFP). This Association had two objectives, which were, to provide training for business and general development, and to spread the another religion. We worked with another association called the “Nun Association”, and my responsibility was to share the book of Conrad which is printed in Germany. (Note: the book of Conrad is a false religion.)

In June 1996, I met a youth group who went around sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. They gave me a pamphlet that contained four Bible verses of promise, which the other religions do not have. And the four verses are:

1. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved from your sins – Acts 10:43

2. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be a child of God – John 1:12

3. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will have eternal life – John 3:16

4. Believe in Jesus Christ and you will go to a place of peace – John 14:6

I gave it much thought after reading the pamphlet. After sometime, I decided to give up my previous religion and my responsibility to share the book of Conrad. I decided to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I ceased from the Association work, and I found new work in COMFREL (Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Cambodia).

In the beginning of 1999, after the Cambodian Elections ended and the government was installed, I lost my job, and subsequently, I had no income. At that time, my wife was due to give birth but we did not have money at all. I went to my Pastor and he gave me $5 so that my wife and I could travel back to the province in order for her to give birth in the province as we do not have money for her to give birth in Phnom Penh. At that time, I prayed to God to provide me a job. On the day that I was to travel back to the province, the Pastor brought a job application form to me but could not meet me as I had already left for the province. I needed to stay in the province for four days before I could return to Phnom Penh. When I arrived back in Phnom Penh, I filled in the job application form immediately and sent it to the organisation “World Relief”. The next day, I was called up and I started work straightaway! Praise the Lord for His miracle, His providence and His care!

After working for some time, I left to work in COSI where my wife and I continue to serve God as house parents to the COSI boys.
