We believe it is God's timing for The Methodist Church in Singapore to move up to the forefront of missions. With more Spirit-led 'open doors' before us, let us step forward to join other Methodists in missions to touch and transform lives of those needing the Lord Jesus Christ.

IN THE FIELD

The fields are ready for harvesting – but there are so few labourers. Right now, in all six countries that MMS has chosen, our missionaries in the field are asking for assistance.

Our first request is for more full-time missionaries to join them! They are asking the Lord to send pastors, church planters, school principals, English language teachers (very high demand) and administrators. (There are very good short courses that will equip you to teach English to speakers of other languages – TESOL).

Our second prayer is for business people and professional who are willing to leave the comforts of Singapore and base themselves in the region. We would like to train you to coach national pastors.

Our third request is for short term workers who are willing to spend between two weeks to six months at their own expenses helping one of our missionaries.

What to do if you sense the LORD calling you into His mission field:

1.  Tell your pastor and ask him/her to help check your calling to missions.

2.  If your church pastor and a leaders affirm your calling and are prepared to provide full financial support – praise the Lord! Call MMS straight away.

CAMBODIA
A registered nurse to coordinate and supervise the healthcare programmes at COSI Children’s Village, Emmaus Women’s Centre as well as our churches and staff in Cambodia.

A qualified English teacher to train Cambodian English teachers with their teaching and language skills as well as to develop a curriculum of English classes for the School and outreach ministry.

A person with administrative skills to serve as administrator of our centre in Phnom Penh.

An ordained pastor to mentor and to provide pastoral care, support and leadership to the Cambodian pastors, ministry works and missionaries serving in Cambodia.

A staff to develop micro-enterprise opportunities.

CHINA
A qualified English teacher to conduct and teach English classes and organise English camps in Fujian.

Church leaders and trainers to train and equip National Workers on church planting and discipleship training in Henan, Fujian, Shanghai, Nanchang and Xiamen training centres.

One youth worker to oversee the Student Centre and youth ministry in Fujian.

An ordained pastor to provide pastoral guidance to a young church in Nanchang.

NEPAL
Ordained pastors or ministry staff to teach at Caleb Bible Institute and equipping ministry for National leaders and workers in East Nepal.

A volunteer to assist and supervise our Income Generating Projects.

A fulltime staff (tent-maker) to teach Missionaries' children from Primary 1 to 6.

THAILAND
3 ministry workers to coordinate church planting and outreach in Isaan, Central Thailand and Bangkok metropolitan areas.

A community development staff to oversee community development activities.

One registered nurse to coordinate healthcare programme in Northern Thailand.

VIETNAM
A person with administrative skills to oversee our projects in partnership with the People’s Committee of HCMC.

LAOS
One couple or two workers to pioneer work in Laos.

TIMOR-LESTE
Teachers to teach English in schools for 3 months.

AT HOME

You can also come alongside as Mission Partners and Volunteers (MPV) at home to encourage and empower God’s work and workers to incarnate the love of Jesus Christ to make a difference in the mission fields.

1. Prayer Committee

• Be our MMS Prayer Coordinator, intercessors and supporter to intercede for missionaries and mission work in various fields.
• Assist to plan and lead in prayer session in various Country Prayer & Praise Nights.

2. Communications and Publications

• Be an English-Chinese translator.
• Be a photographer.
• Help to set up MMS mission exhibition booth.

3. Financial Assistance

• Be a sponsor through the Student Sponsorship Schemes.

4. Office Assistance

• Be our MMS Trainer and Event Coordinator.

5. Mission-Trip Coordinator

• Be a Mission-Trip Coordinator to assist in briefing and debriefing the mission teams to achieve optimal preparations and mission fulfilment and benefits.

6. Volunteer Writer

• We need a volunteer writer to help us write the History of MMS.
