| The Methodist
Missions Society (MMS) was established in 1991 as the missions agency
of The Methodist Church in Singapore. MMS seeks to establish indigenous
churches supported by mission endeavours in communities across our
region where there is no Methodist presence. Through MMS, The Methodist
Church in Singapore is positioned at the forefront of reaping in God's
harvest fields.
The commitment of MMS is to encourage, enlist, engage and empower
Methodists to serve in missions by partnering, praying for and participating
with MMS to reach those whom Jesus died to redeem. We are committed
to be part of what God is doing to help rebuild, restore and reconcile
people and communities back to Him.
MMS provides widening opportunities in the harvest fields –
evangelising, equipping and nurturing new believers, making disciples,
establishing mission endeavours, and church planting. And MMS is
touching and making a difference through social concerns, healthcare,
education, livelihood projects and practical assistance.
The current focus is on the Asian region particularly Cambodia,
China, Laos, Nepal, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam owing to their proximity to Singapore
and the multiple opportunities to reach the large numbers of unreached
people groups in these countries for Christ.
Throughout Scripture, God calls His
church to multiply and make disciples in every tribe, people and
nation. Our response is the MMS
Vision 2020.
MMS needs your personal and local church
response for the vision to be fulfilled.
